SAWIC & BE, as a Founding Member Organisation of BBCBE, actively contributing to industry dialogue, collaboration, and transformation

Breakfast engagement with minister & mec 2024 in partnership with SAWIC & BE

A high-level engagement bringing together leadership to advance opportunities for women in the construction and built environment sector.
SAWIC & BE participated in a Women in Construction leadership engagement breakfast held on 06 April 2024 at Birchwood Hotel, bringing together key stakeholders and decision-makers within the sector.
The engagement featured Mmamoloko Kubayi (Minister of Human Settlements) and Faith Mazibuko (Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements), creating a platform for meaningful dialogue on advancing women’s participation, empowerment, and growth within the industry.
This engagement reflects SAWIC & BE’s continued role in influencing policy discussions, strengthening partnerships, and driving transformation in the built environment sector.
A national milestone bringing together government and women-led organisations to advance transformation in the built environment sector, 8th March 2024

We don’t only build structures, we serve people, restore dignity, and walk with communities in their most vulnerable moments.
Community Outreach

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Supporting and uplifting vulnerable members of our communities through care, dignity, and compassion.
Serving with Compassion in Our Communities
This moment reflects the heart of our work beyond construction and business.
During one of our community outreach initiatives, we had the opportunity to support an elderly beneficiary in her time of need. Although her journey came to an end shortly after, we remained committed to honoring her life and supporting her family, including attending her funeral in the Eastern Cape.
This experience reminds us that our work is not only about building structures, but about serving people, restoring dignity, and making a meaningful difference where it matters most.
Recognising the dedication and lifelong contribution of the women who have shaped and strengthened SAWIC & BE
Recognising Our SAWIC Veterans

In 2024, the President, Clara Sodlulashe-Mwenze, hosted a special appreciation lunch to honour SAWIC veterans for their loyalty, commitment, and enduring contribution to the organisation.
Joined by the then SAWIC Executive, this gathering created a meaningful space to reflect, connect, and celebrate the women who have played a vital role in building and sustaining the organisation over the years.
This moment reflects SAWIC & BE’s deep appreciation for its members, past and present, whose dedication continues to shape its legacy.
